Yarrrrr that there be an excellent example of why we, the humble, rascals of the wide open seas, are much better than the landlubbing, shadow skulking ninjas!

pirate with a cutlass vs ninja = no contest. no comment on how many ways that "pirate" would not stand a chance Chinese had guns too Duh japan traded with China

Meh.. Technically it is sort of sneaky what pirates do, treading through the fog with every clue on where you are, then shooting cannons and cutting up the enemy out of nowhere. :D But, that's only if you're in a deep fog. =l

Let's be reasonable. Is it not true that every time ANYONE (including ninja fanboys) says "Pirates Vs. Ninjas"... "Pirates" come first... EVERY time. it's because they come first in everything else as well. Pirates obviously kick ass by means of top billing as well.

FINALLY someone that speaks about copycat-ing Jack Sparrow! Although this video is over 1 year old, I haven't heard anybody else mention it. Awesome rant! :)

Blackbeard carried no less than 6 pistols on his baldrics at any given time. That allowed him to be more likely to have a loaded sidearm long after others have exhausted that option.
And seeing 6 pistols also added to the fear factor as well. ^-^
I am curious... I know that the blackbeard fire example is good for helping the intimidation side, but how exactly does it relate to pirates being prowessfull with their weaponry?

Fear is a powerful weapon... >D (I guess that's why Pirates and Ninjas drew a tie on that one)

Hey, where'd you get the audio for "A Pirate I Was Meant to Be?"
Oh, BTW, I (a pirate) decided to celebrate Ninja Day by dressing in head-to-toe black, drinking green tea, watching Ask A Ninja, and greeting everyone with a little bow. I'm sure people with more of a clue about it could tell you more.

Ooh, green tea! That stuff's awesome. Good plan.

you can also devote part of the day to making origami shuriken. (then, if you feel particularly mischievious, give them to the kids in remedial english... heh heh.)

I have learned to make paper stars, but paper shurikens are next on my list!
