  • If you got a Fiero these days better to know how to fix it or fixing it can cost more than the car.

  • did you order your cam from summit? im looking at thier site and they say hydrualic flat tappet cam, and my motor doesnt have a flat tappet, its a roller.

  • mine ha a flowmasters cat. its pretty much a strait pipe

  • i have an 88 with tech4 and a five speed. its bone stock though. i couldnt find much for exhuast for the car, so im going to put a cut off valve right before the cat. can you say loud?

  • I think so, gives it some more "get up and go". I can spin the tires really good. What I need next are some 17" rims and the Getrag 5-speed, with the 4-speed I have now the engine really revs when I go 100mph.

  • hows that cam do on performance? is it worth it?

  • so,, what happened? ... for all we know you just ran out of gas :) I rebuilt the Iron duke in my fiero bored it 30 over and put in a comp cam, that gets 25mils a gal now.

  • Don't know - mine's an automatic.

The neutral start switch on an auto is on the driver's side of the transmission, where the shifter linkage is connected. Don't know where it is on manuals.

There's some electrical connection plugged into it. I unplugged it and shorted some pins to (apparently) defeat it. I hardly remember doing it so I don't remember what those pins were. I think this ultimately didn't fix it.

I later wired up a new starter button directly from the starter.

  • That's happened to me too. Right after cross-country, so I was all hot and sweaty. AAA took a while to get there too.

  • Is that what that white plastic button thing is down by the clutch? That depressed when you let off the clutch?
