I thought that he said the word, but Allen explains.

  • Proper names could be used as clues, but they were never passwords.

  • However, that changed starting with Password Plus.

  • What year was this from?

  • We know that this was from the 1960s.

  • Here's my clue "Kutshenko."

  • I tried looking it up, but that does not exist.

  • Yes you've got to be careful. I remember seeing the New Year's Eve 1964 show on GSN where Sammy Davis, Jr. said "The Leader" (the password was "frank") and he was referring to Frank Sinatra. That's when the buzzard went off.

  • Randy is a word as well as a name as he is feeling randy, but of course it's contained in the password too

  • @midknightryder13 If the question you're asking is if it was improper to use "Randy" because it was a proper noun (even if not mistaken for being a part of "brandy"), it would not matter, since "randy" is also an adjective, and thus a common noun. So I don't think it would be a problem for that reason.

  • @ACuriousDanceretc 1963. It was right after Betty and Allen got married. Jack only appeared as a wedding present to the both of them.

  • They replayed that clip on Million Dollar Password when Betty White was a guest. They surprised her with it; she teared up and everybody was clearly emotional.

  • This is from 1963 - I think that Allen and Betty had just returned from their honeymoon.

There were some funny passwords that evening... For instance "romance" and "henpecked"

I love the ending of this episode:

    Allen: "The password is..."

Betty: "HOME - will you take me home Mr. Ludden?"
