Doc Watson is one of the fathers of bluegrass guitar music. His mixture of fingerpicking and fiddle tunes with standard guitar riffs continues to influence guitar players everywhere. Lost Indian is one of those old-timey fiddle tunes that he converted into a guitar tune, and it has great chord changes akin to Billy in the Lowground or Apple Blossoms. The version I'm teaching today is from Watson's appearance on 'Norman Blake & Tony Rice 2', their second duo album together. Later on I'll be teaching Tony Rice's solo from that album, a beautiful advanced version of Lost Indian. Enjoy!
