The puck is mounted inside the kayak, and shoots through-hull. It is just behind the seat, centered.

The shears help to get way back in the "bush". When we do a lot of our fresh water kayak fishing, we need to get into some really tight quarters. :)

First Off Nice Basic setup!!
I always keep my Garmin 60csx GPS with me at all times. Also a good thing to bring with you is a spring clamp one you can pick up in a local hardware store, I use it when I get close to land with over hanging branches I clamp myself to the branches attached with a rope so i can fish close to some of the banks.
