Witness the devastation unleashed by Runaway Trains as this powerful program examines the world's most tragic rail catastrophes. Understand how major accidents really happened through incredible computer-animated recreations. Learn how railroads are adapting new technologies to improve safety and reduce the risk of fatal collisions. Incredible accident-site footage tells horrifying tales of destruction: a 100-car freight train plows into a sleepy suburban subdivision; a crowded commuter train collides head-on with a passenger train; another passenger train rear-ends a stalled commuter train, and the wreckage lands in the path of an onrushing express. Intense viewing.

  • what law gives trains the right-of-way at crossings?

  • @ipaintyou1 The United States Supreme Court gave railroads the right of way at crossings. (Grand Truck Railway Company of Canada v. Ives, 144 U.S. 408 (1892)

  • Will you be uploading the "Why Trains Crash" series?

  • @GeorgeUKCFC I don't have it so, no go.

  • I, as a conductor/engineer for BNSF watched this last night when i was cruizin U-tube. Ironically i coming down Cajon pass this morning. I went to apply the brakes, when i did my speed increased up to 26.5mph! lol..(limit's 25mph) After seeing this video last night, I decided maybe its best not to blast its horn aimlessly. ...staying quiet for respect to avoid frightening the residence near the location..

  • @wickett1985 You should check out my "Unstoppable Train/Runaway Train - MAYDAY - Air Emergency" video.

  • @StationAgent86 thanks

  • Arthur Collyer has likely passed on. (This was aired in '97.) So chances are, from how old he looked in the interview, if he's still alive, he's probably about ninety.

  • In Australia between Brisbane and Rockhampton we have the tilt trains and they used to have a camera in the nose so you could watch the scenery go past when one night a suicide was standing on the rails looking right at the train.Needless to say every person on the train saw this person splat all over the front. But what a great show you have uploaded.Cheers.

  • I never want to see a vehicle that huge going over 100mph. I'd freak out like no other.
