This is not about hating religion or bashing religion it is about not having religion forced down your throat, pushed upon the unwilling, The song takes a very Nietzsche approach, the same that Nietzsche took in his book the Gay Science. God is dead, we have killed him. That is exactly what they are saying that we have lost the lord, that organized religion has killed god. You are a fool for writing the lyrics but not being able to understand them.
