This is a prospective property to be purchased by Partners for Care to establish a new ministry for children infected with and orphaned by HIV. This place would be called Kathi's House of Restoration, a rescue, recovery and restoration center for children affected by HIV. What is unique about our plans, is that the goal will be to provide an interim home for these children, a loving home where medical care, proper nutrition, education and spiritual development will be provided - with the goal of connecting them with extended family (Aunts / Uncles), to eventually be restored into a home setting with family.

This place will be known as Kathi's House of Restoration. A pastor and associated staff will work to involve the local community in the home, to prevent the isolation too often common in typical children's homes. Likewise, once children are restored into a home environment with blood relatives, the staff will continue to visit the children and maintain an ongoing relationship with their new family unit. The staff and local hospital will provide education and support for the family members, to ensure that the children continue to receive the life saving medications and care essential to children infected with HIV.

Partners for Care has been blessed to develop strong relationships with Dr. PLO Lumumba and other senior Kenyan government officials who have helped to shape the vision for Kathi's House - as there is a strong push in Kenya to eliminate traditional orphanages / children's homes, where children are raised in relative isolation from the community and extended family members. Likewise, we have learned that the government discourages separation of HIV infected orphaned children from other children, as it tends to reinforce the stigma associated with HIV.
