(1941 - Drama) Desperate to find a home for her lunatic sisters, a housekeeper tries to persuade her reluctant employer to take them in.
DISCLAIMER: I couldn't get the entire film. Missing from the beginning are about 2 minutes. After the titles, Ellen is seen outside the house, concerned, reading a letter that tells her that her two sisters have been evicted from their residence. She goes into the house, and there is some chat between the mistress and her servants as the first video in this project picks up the story.
UPDATE: The ending is missing too... I have no idea how it ends!
Ida Lupino - Ellen Creed
Louis Hayward - Albert Feather
Evelyn Keyes - Lucy
Elsa Lanchester - Emily Creed
Edith Barrett - Louisa Creed
Isobel Elsom - Leonora Fiske
Emma Dunn - Sister Theresa
Clyde Cook - Bates
Queenie Leonard - Sister Agatha
Am I being clear if I state that Elsa Lanchester was mentally and emotionlly the equal of any man. Charle's Laughton was something else but dang it all. When you look at the breadth and length and quality of the woman's performances so was ELSA. What a pair they must have been. The verbal reparte would have been worth taping!
