McCracken County Commissioner Jerry Beyer had the classic signs of stroke when he was brought to Western Baptist Hospital, the area's only certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, earlier this year. Neurologist Niranjan Siva, M.D., said Beyer was able to receive a clot-busting drug, which can reverse paralyzing stroke symptoms, because he arrived at Western Baptist's Emergency department within three hours from the time his symptoms started.
