this was a program from Tales from Europe... i watched it when i was small over 40 yrs ago....... i recently found it for sale and paid ovr £20 for it on dvd, i think u can get it cheaper now... people said you couldnt let kids watch that today as the dwarf was too scary.. load of B******.... there are scarier things on tv now.... a brilliant series in my book and I still often watch it.

I remember watching this in the mid/late 60's, don't think i've seen anything since that scared me as much!!

East German H.R. Puffinstuff!

Think this was made in East Germany in the late 50's & exported to us to stupify capitalist kiddies in the west! 1st saw it in 1965 when I was about 5. Have not felt sorry for Dwarfs since then!!!

For years, I have asked people do they remember this programme and describing it to anyone leaves them puzzled/ worried......here it is! I also remember it in black and white.
My children's shows are positively mild...can't see them having flashbacks on account of anything they watch!

Maybe so but I thought that the little guy was scary because of his vicious wit and the power he had - it made you think if only I could change the world for the better instead of like it is - in deep freeze for the young imagination. Very powerful it was saying to kids - you have power use it!!

LOL - yeah this was seriously weird. A useful primer for those who would go on to dabble.
