  • Yup, it was a Chinese missile ... and just last week China showed it can hijack the North America internet for 18 minutes. Wake up, Americans!

  • @Recon801 Maybe that is why the FAA verified that there were no airplanes in that airspace at the time of the "contrail"? Really? An airplane that stages at 18 nautical miles in altitude? A single nozzle exhaust airplane that is sea surface launched? Really? Yeah, ok, your tin foil hat is in the mail.....

  • The launch was from China. This was China's way of telling Obama who is really in control. A launch just 30 miles of the coast of California during drive time was a message from China telling the US that we are vulnerable.

  • @archer49d You have the right to your own beliefs, as ignorant as they may be, however, it is clear from your anger that you are unstable and should probably seek some help to control it. Good luck with it and I hope that you get what you need to make you a productive member of society.

  • I can't be certain, but perhaps the sun setting behind it facilitates this illusion.

  • I used to live in California. I've seen similar things several times over the years. Once in particular I watched an almost identical spectacle for a while, certain it had to be a missle launch, before it was finally apparent it was an airplane heading toward me. The contrail can be very misleading, appearing to be vertical, when in fact, it is horizontal, merely running parallel on a higher altitude.

  • @archer49d I like the iron man theory!
