  • thanks for the info now i know a large grass snake was in my garden when i was young i was only half a meter away as well.

  • well done very usefull informations about UK s snakes...thanks

  • dying to see one of these snakes in the uk, apparently there are some adders up at strensal common near york, might have to pop up on a warm hot day :)

  • Learn something new everyday! :)

  • there are no smooth snakes in Suffolk

  • I had to rescue a smooth snake. It was caught up in strawberry netting on my allottment in Suffolk. It didn't seem to mind being handled and didn't rush off afterwards even though it was the middle of a warm day. What a privalege to meet it. Typically I did not have a camera with me just like a year ago when I watched the only bittern I have ever seen eating a fish right out in the open because of low water level. Should carry a camera everywhere!!

  • subbed sub back

  • @sagecreeps wierdo if you dont like them dont watch snake related video's they are a national treasure and should be looked after and left alone not bullied by knobs like you

  • 1 adder 2 grass snake and 3 smooth snake (exeptionaly rare) and im only 15 seconds in :)

  • The female at 1:36 is very pretty. Not particularly high in contrast, especially compared to that male, but sleek and elegant.

The common adder is the only snake found north of the Arctic Circle. In that region melanism is much more common as it helps the snake absorb heat.
