SPE SALVI is a project/short film I took part in around the October of 2008 for a non-profit organization, geared toward promoting the "culture of life". The short film is based on Pope Benedict XVI's 2008 Encyclical "SPE SALVI facti sumus" [which means "In Hope, we are saved" from St. Paul's epistle to the Romans (8:24)] and highlights a character, "Samuel", who has low self-esteem, then encounters one who boosts his esteem. He is motivated to impress her, but gains a "false hope". This false hope carries him to reality, which is too much to bear.
Not seen here is the exposition (the beginning) of the film or the resolve, and it cuts off right after the climax.. Moral of the story? There is a greater hope than much of the hope we harbor. Look Heavenward. :)
Sadly, I don't have the rest of the film available at the moment, but I'll upload it as soon as I get to it.. I know, this clip leaves you hanging! LOL. It kinda deems itself pointless if you DO see it, in a way..
I'm sorry about the bad acting. LOL.
This is the unfinished, semi-raw film, with minimal edits, no narration, but still, worth the watch!
