@dean0681 If you like 22.9, you'll like the 30mpg that it gets on the motorway at 70mph. Remarkable engines these BMW engines.

@neilcardiff you are correct about the speed limiter, although i don't own an m car unfortunately =[, but an old high school friend owns an m3 and i hit 165 in it with no trouble gps verified so i can only imagine what your m5 can do, all german cars are well known for grossly understating their power and performance as well as their top speeds on their top models with some wiggle room on the limiter, drive safe lol

how long have u had the car, how many clutches u been through bro?

Great video..... These cars are awesome!! In my opinion one of the best m5's ever built.... Bar the new F10 ;-)

I've never drove a car that goes faster than 80. Aren't you committing suicide?

@giantmidget08 My dad managed to pull 32 mpg on my M5 :) To be honest i did reset the counter when we were doing 70 mph, and we didn't stop or slow down for ~25 miles :D
Go off the clock over 200 mph?...doubtful though.

@jerbele The clock doesn't read to 200. If it went off the clock, you're looking at 185mph. Which has now been tested and verified...190mph is achievable.

@neilcardiff That e39 is limited to 155mph, not 165mph. In the early 90s Mercedes, BMW, and audi all signed an agreement to limit their cars to 155mph to avoid high speed wars.
Generally speedometers are 3-7% off the actual speed, speedometers CANNOT under read the cars actual speed therefore, car companies set them about 5% off to avoid any problems. So if your speedo reads 160mph, its probably truly about 150mph, give or take a few.

@Clementsfootball08 Obviously, my pedigree chum, you've never owned an M car. Both standard E46 M3's and E39 M5's would happily bang the 165mph mark on their speedos at VMax events, and with them reading GPS verified 164 mph's all day through the traps, it shows a very loose speed limiter. You'll also find that BMW are very accurate with their speedometers and over-reading is minimal across nearly all cars. I wouldn't comment on such a subject until you've driven one with a GPS yourself.

@markmozmarr Ironically, my friend, this is one of few trips abroad where I was actually in Germany. Where else do you expect I have the opportunity to drive at such speed for such distance in a straight line from a standing start?
She'd returned to the Fatherland.
