This is where my family originated. I'm playing the song actually on a traditional Irish penny whistle. This was her favorite song and is dedicated to my Grandmother, Jessie MacDonald Danks, rest easy.

  • @susanssongs101

Oddly enough, the Irish side of my family hails from County Mayo.

  • No, its a standard D whistle played in its lower octaves.

  • Where the hell is the sung version???

  • @XxXNick1925XxX

One of these days, I'll put a sung version up.

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • @APeiceoftaiste

    Thanks!

@Joeybcool: Yep, a tin whistle. It's a good brass whistle, actually, from Feadog

  • @Pallidity - But did you teach yourself to play while living someone else's life on a long dead planet?

  • @WillShakespeare2007 While it sounds very similar it's not the same song. I've taught myself how to play both and the notes are quite different if you pay close attention. (:

  • This is beautiful thank you for posting. I am not a musician but this sound like the song they used for "Star Trek - the inner light" is it the same song?

Again this is beautiful - very haunting.

  • Lovely Tom. Cheers.

The Isle of Skye (Portree) is the only place i know, where you can drop your wallet in a taxi and get it back after 4 hours.. Followed by a dressing down from the cabbie who said, 'I've been looking for you, ya daft ba'std..You shouldn't carry that amount of money with you (£243) you could lose it''

  • Is this a low D whistle?

  • yeah we want a sung version plzzzzzzzz
