@AmphibianStudios Yes and he wanted to do so by showing EVERYONE how to defend themselves.
I'm no expert I haven't even looked at his wiki page I know only what I've heard from others about Bruce Lee.
Doesn't change the fact of what he did and how it's changed the world.
-
@VomitShovel his ideas were to settle conflict......
-
@abchang88 Also bruce lee would just grab your throat. Or claw your eyes. He envisioned a real fighting system, whereas MMA is more of a competition with rulesets.
It's his views and his ideals that left the lasting image and made him the grandfather of MMA
-
@abchang88 Naw. I was reading one of his books, he was very focused on grappling as well as striking. If he fought other guys today (assuming he was eternally 30-something), I have no doubt he would have gone far.
-
Bruce DID include grappling in his training.
He trained with some of the top grapplers of the time, most notably Gene Lebell.
He knew bits of wrestling, judo and jujitsu.
The thing is, grappling has evolved since then.
But like you say, Bruce wouldve evolved too.

@abchang88 Bruce Lee usava tecniche di lotta. in definitiva il jkd è "dirty mma" come è solito dire un certo Paul Vunak.

@Awesome14U2C Unlike some other persons here, I have way more arguments to shoot into this discussion. Sometimes there are not enough space in the posts, so I have to write answers spread over more than one post.
But if you like to write just "lol", "haha", repeat something you thought was funny in the video, or write other typical stupid youtube-comments, you are free to do so. Be my guest.

@tjoooda Do u always reply to yourself?
-
@tjoooda This was just a superficial explaining. There are a lot of more biomechanics that will increase the force even furher. But then I have to write a bokk of it. And it has allready been done. Teri Tom, a student of Ted wong wrote the books, "The straght lead" and "Jeet kune do - the arsenal of self-expression". You'll find detailed info there. Now... I am waiting for your arguments against mine.
-
@tjoooda ... the filaments will overlap and the sarcomere will shorten. When you move ulna and radius away from humerus the sarcomere will shorten in tricepsmuscle, and if you do opposite, the sarcomere will be longer. The longer the sarcomere is, the less power is potential. Therefore its no need to do full range in punches to develop power. But for practial reason you want to protect the body, avoid tendon i shoulder in fighting situations. Lee is here just showing a principle with force. More
I know people compare bruce lee to present day fighters saying that lee would get killed if they went head to head. He actually might, because that's like saying let's take the steelers from the 70's and face them against the present day patriots, of course the older team would lose. Bruce lee would have evolved with the fighters, I'm sure he would mix in grapples into his training. He trained to be efficient, fast, and to be able to win at all costs.

it's not about professional fighting, it's his words that inspired people
