For the past one and a half years I've been working on a graphic novel. What is a graphic novel? It's basically an extended comic book. Graphic novels differ from comic books in the same way movies differ from TV shows. Graphic novels and movies tell a story in a large chunk where as comic books and TV Shows use shorter episodes to tell an ongoing story.
I got the inspiration to start this project when I made a cover letter in the form of a comic book page. After I sent a couple of those out I thought: wouldn't it be fun to do a whole story? Having the artistic skill, the graphic design know-how and an insane amount of patience I decided I'd give it a try. I wanted to make a graphic novel for someone like me: the person who never really liked comics. I purposely stayed away from super heroes and things you would normally expect in a comic. Also I tried really hard to make the pages flow nicely and the dialogue easy to read.
My graphic novel is called Hood. It's not about gangsters, if you read it you'll probably figure out the meaning of the title pretty quick. So far this is volume 1 of 2. It's around 40 pages long, and I spent hours and hours on it.
The plot centers around two teenagers: Rebbecca Solone, a too snoopy for her own good journalism student and Jethro Peaches McCoy a reckless backwoods race car driver. HINT: it doesn't ever get very deep, but hey, I'm going for fun.
I'm sorry about the long wait for the first installment on my graphic novel. I think it took 2 months before the printers put it up in their store.
But that aside here's the link to the official 'Hood' website so you can order a copy.

Well, I think I sold a couple of copies. I need to do better publicity. I might turn it into a wed comic.
