Arkwright consisted of, Sammy King, a brilliant singer song writer and very good comedian, and Bill Clarke, an excellent guitarist. Sammy wrote Penny Arcade for Roy Orbison. Sammy may still be doing the northern clubs, but you may have to request this song as he did not sing it the last time I saw him. Check him out, he has more of his own music on you tube but its under his own name, hope this helps.

Well, I too have bought a copy from the internet since posting that comment but I am yet to play it as I no longer have a turntable but it was described as unplayed and certainly looks that way (£5) what a bargain !!!

Sorry, it was a while ago when i got this song from the internet, can't remember which store! It was in very poor condition and no better than this recording, still looking for a clean copy.

....and I thought I was the only one to remember it. Took me years to get the single and I was beginning to think I'd imagined it. Found a version by The Houghton Weavers (very inferior).

Thanks for this, I thought i was the only person to remember this song. I managed to get hold of a second hand single from an online store, it's one of my prized possessions. Beautiful song, brings a lump to my throat. Thanks again.....
