2009 Civil Rights Walk of Fame
Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. C.T. Vivian along with broadcast mogul Cathy Hughes of Radio One were among those inducted into the Civil Rights Walk of Fame at the M.L. King Jr. Visitors Center in Atlanta in January 2009.
The other inductees included: former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell, the Links, Inc., the late Ernest Morial (first black mayor of New Orleans), the late Coca-Cola Company Chairman Roberto Goizueta, Earvin Magic Johnson, Father Michael Pfleger, former congressman William L. Clay, Rev. Cameron M. Alexander, Danny J. Blakewell Sr., and Dr. Erieka Bennett.
The Civil Rights Walk of Fame was founded by Xernona Clayton, former aide to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., former VP at Turner Broadcasting and founder of the Trumpet Foundation.
