Powell sang without forcing the voice as all the bellowing sopranos on the professional operatic stage do today. This is the way a young girl's voice should sound. Listen to Elizabeth Rethberg for the greatest operatic soprano

@Applejack70 -- i gave your review a thumbs up - i dislike those who voted against you just cuz you didn't agree with their OPINION on Jane's singing - her Italian bothered me in this version - however I would like to hear the opinion of a native Italian speaker - i thought her vocal performance was sweet and charming even tho not "operatic" - but then the full voice isn't as pleasant over a movie sound system - in my opinion

Jane Powell has one of the MOST beautiful voices- she has it all- Beauty, & I agree- BEAUTIFUL Smilin' eyes, she could dance, act. She was/is the BOMB!! Thank u Miss Powell for looking & sounding like an angel! God Bless u !!~~<3

Love her dress... This had some great moments but I don't think this song suits her or maybe Italian doesn't do her justice. Because I love love love her filles de Cadiz which is French just don't love this. Still a good job just not her best.

As I'm aware, most stage operatic sopranos have always bellowed.
This is what I call a true soprano voice of great quality ... but I'll try Elizabeth, just out of curiosity ;)
