Jim Graham Clinic - March 2008
Day 2 [Cross Country], part 2
This is where it gets interesting! :P Haha. We had to wait for the water complex to thaw out before we went through it, and the air was still so cold that when we galloped tears started streaming out of my eyes. The audio and overall quality of this one is better than part 1 for some reason, so enjoy!!!

We were excited that it got above 20 degrees on our 1.5 hour drive up there for the second day. :)
The first day we wated the temp go from 19 to 18 to 17 back to 19 and we cheered when it hit 20. :P haha. But then the second day we were extremely happy when it hit 25. Especially at 6:30 am. I was able to take my parka off to ride, and take my other coat off by noon! :D

  • muuuch better as far as speed lol xD I wasn't AS scared xD I'm thinking about going to one of his clinics in early may... but I'm afraid my horse isn't experienced enough :/ what levels does he teach, do you know?

    Good job too, btw!

  • Thanks. :]

As far as I know, he does beginner novice on up. But the lady that was with me in this particular lesson did some novice stuff with me. Jim is very tough, but he's good at not giving you more than you can handle. So we were doing more than beginner novice out on the xc course since the other 2 from the first day didn't show up. Just something for you to go by. :] But if you think your horse can handle it and you get the chance to go, I highly recommend it!

  • I have absolutely no tolerance for cold; pretty damn impressive! If I'm out in the cold too long, my knees lock up and it kills! Great job!

  • Thanks! We were workin' hard.

Yeah, the first morning of the clinic I had to check to see if my heels were down because I couldn't really feel anything from my calves down. :\

  • you id really well! you know how you said about you couldnt see cos the tears were running down your eyes?! i HATE that! i get that too when im doing cross country and the cold wind just blasts you in the face and water runs down your eyes!

and your horse is beautiful by the way! gorgeous! good riding :)

  • Thank you! :)

And yeah... that cold air on the eyes isn't too fun. But everything else was!

And thank you again! I luff my horse. ;)

  • i loved ur vid

    ur horse is so pretty

i cant wait till next spring cuz my trainer wants me in a jin graham clinic prolly beg novice too

  • Well I just bought my new project horse on Jan. 23rd and he's an ex-race horse who was turned out for 4 years xD he's a fast learner... but I don't think I can get him doing beg. novice in like, 2 weeks when we're only jumping small verticals/xrails XD it'd be an effin' miracle... and it's not that he CAN'T do it, it's that he doesn't do it very good, he sort of 'flails' over the jumps. he's made a LOT of progress in only 3 months though. I'll be sure to at least audit, thanks for the info!
