@SnakesMF @fukdyamum i agree, i wish ableton would implement a "free-pencil" way of drawing automation, but the straight line ramp is possible. you just have to disable the pencil and double click to add automation points and drag them around.
also if you turn off the grid (right click, sleect off), you get more fine pencil drawing. i like to first draw the automation with the pencil tool, then go back and ramp whatever sounds unnatural.

@Fukdyamum - just double click on the automation line to create a break point at the top left, then the same at the bottom right. You can drag break points around at your leisure. I'd avoid the draw mode except when you really need it.

@fukdyamum . i agree, dont know about fl, but im born and bred on reason, but no have ableton too. Unless i discover something that i'm overlooking, i'd have to say reason's automation is far better than live's. live's biggest weakspot i would say

is there a way of get the automation to be just a straight line from the top left to the bottom right ? i mean I have used fl studio which is supposed to be the worst ever but fl even has this option, i think the automation in ableton is really messy with automation
now draw in "pitch bend 0"... see ya next update! (maybe) lol.
All automation is "percentages" and relative values.
Try this: automate a SEND KNOB. Unless ALL other Clips on that track need to be
Sent all the way up before you can do that.
you can't automate to sends at all.
Sorry, masses: ableton live HAS NO CLIP BASED AUTOMATION.
The endless hype about Live has really begun to make me puke. Go buy the $500 update and hope for the best, lol.

@8messa I think you're misreading what clip based automation is. The idea behind clip based automation is to automate plugin control with each clip.
