Hi Dave i want to avoid the dealer for obviouse reasons, ive just bought an e39 525i sport but the key is different to what you have, it has long life battery and charges from the ignition how to i change battery on these ive tryed everything to open it but to no avail. Appreciate your advice on this awkward key thanks.

@onabreeze Ah I guess that is the one with the dimaond shapped key that they brought in after the one I have shown. I have had comments on this and the charging from the car which is a better idea. I am afraid I dont know how to change the battery never had played with one.

@DebenDave Hi Dave, i went to the bmw dealer today, they want £100.00 for a new key and they will programme it to car, thanks for getting back to me so soon. Great vids btw.

@onabreeze that is the reason we try to avoid dealers its just arip off. So are you going to fork out the £100?

@DebenDave Yes they have me over a barrel and they know it, hence the price. At the moment the car has no alarm without the key fob working. But as i went to the bmw garage the way they sniff around you for money is shocking, money is all there after i just dont like sales reps lol. I asked for engine diagnostic at the BMW dealership they wanted £98.00 went down the road to bmw specialist £40.00 BMW dealer can run and jump once i get key sorted.
