Tracked this individual down in the night while searching through some fields in SE Washington, within the town of Zillah. I thought it was a grasshopper, and even found one only inches from this tree cricket. I was perplexed, the grasshopper wasn't moving...so I kept searching for the source of the sound and finally realized it was this crazy insect that I'd never seen before.

  • @odg8188 Haha, sorry about that! Youtube glitched and uploaded it publicly before I had added my information, so you had no idea what was going on! Pretty funny.

  • Nice catch getting this on video.

  • I think we have a bunch of these in the park across the street from me. Just from the sound it makes i'm not sure. Its very calming at night. They are very loud to the point that I can hear them from my apartment lol.

  • I hear these animals every night. But I've never seen one. When I follow the sound, they are quiet. You've captured it wonderful.
