Interesting--an erhu with a wooden rather than snakeskin face? There is a video on Baidu Video of a "ban dahu" which is a lot larger than this, also from Xi'an. Do you know anything more about this instrument?

Ban erhu is one of the member of the Qinhu series which is developed by Professor Zhai Zhirong 翟志荣.
