Must be learning from the Crown curriculum. Fairy tales and greedy eyes. Best you learn to research for yourself

The Maori version had approximately 500 signatures or marks and the English version 30-40.

I think you'll find that the Treaty of Waitangi (Te Tititi O Waitangi)is the founding document of New Zealand. The 1835 Declaration of independence did not cede sovereinty, or even Kawanataga to the British so cannot presume to be New Zealands founding document. The Treaty, through the essential bargain; the acquisition of sovereignty (or even Kawanataga (governence) in the Maori text) in exchange for the protection of rangatiratanga over taonga.

hi any trix to memorise wer it was sighned? my xams r comin up. thnx.
Ok baby girl, just a few things...
1) The Declaration of Independance is the founding document of NZ signed prior to The Treaty in 1835
2) It brought war and conquest, not peace
3) Most Chiefs signed The Maori Version (Te Tiriti)
Keep researching :)
