In lessons you can add ideas such as: 1- What would happen before the drum started rotating? - You would be floating. 2- If a person stayed floating as the drum started up while another was in contact with the "ground", what would happen if the one on the ground grabbed the floating one? 3 - The guy in the clip was running round the drum - what would happen if he ran round in the other direction?
The only effect in 2001 I would want to improve is where the camera is moving along with Frank/Gary as he jogs. Looks like he's running uphill when it's behind and running downhill when it's in front of him - mainly because he was! You need to have Frank running right at the bottom of the centrifuge, which is where the moving camera was, to avoid this look.
Some actual spacecraft concepts such as crewed mars missions such as BNTR spin the entire ship length wise during cruise turning the entire vessel into one big centrifuge.
Though it wouldn't be as obvious as this in side such a ship.
Also they really built that centrifuge for the movie 2001 though the camera was moving with the centrifuge while the guy stayed near the ground.

The end result was one very convincing effect.

I am now going to use this video in my physics class. I forgot about this scene. I saw this so long ago that I had forgot about it. Thanks.
