Maiko & Toby's Eco Hybrid House Build Update

On September 27, 2009, Toby took 6 minutes out of his busy schedule and did a video update of where Maiko and he are with the building of "Square One", the name of their straw bale eco hybrid home in Higashikawa, Hokkaido, Japan.

August & September were very busy and intense months with the installation of straw bale walls, the preperation of the 1st two coats of earth plaster on the outside and then the 1st coat of plaster on the inside. In this video, you can see the last of the exposed straw being covered with mud (earth plaster) before they move on to adding another 2 coats to the inside during the month of October and then finishing everything else with the house project during the month of November. Exciting times.
