You are always overshooting. There is no such thing as headshots in this game so aim for their bat torsos :D

gix i noticed your playing with the bow like your playing oblivion, the bow has some major changes in skyrim. first you don't have to aim above them to account for the arrow falling the game does that for you, you just have to aim where you want to hit and the character will shoot upwards accordingly. second you can bash with the bow if they get too close by pressing the left hand button.

What I do is I usually aim between the shoulder blades if they are facing away or square in the chest if they are facing forward. Worst case scenario you usually will hit them in the neck if the arrow goes too high. I get alot of insta-kills using that method.

I don't know anyone has mentioned this before, but you no longer need to shoot arrows into the ground in Skyrim, you can just "sheate" your weapon (press R by default).

@rancor260 Judging by the beautifully vast environment and immersion in the game, I think Bethesda was anything but lazy. I'd rather have thousands more lines of dialogue and views that make my arm hairs raise than beefed up AI.

In Skyrim there is some kind of "feature" that sort of auto adjusts for height with the bow so you basicly just have to point at them. At least in my experience. However there is a nifty mod on the nexus that gets rid of that "feature".

dont aim above peoples heads, the arrows tend to go in a straight line at all but the greatest distances.
