Cinderella is 16 years old (we've had her for 14 years), and has gone deaf in the last year. Used to be, she'd take off when the vacuum came out. Now I can give her a good vacuuming - great fur control ! It's only at the end of the video, when she realizes that I have the vacuum out, that she gets upset.

We got Cinderella (Cindy) from the local SPCA back when it was just a few cages in the back of the local vet's. We called, looking for a female, grey, short-haired cat. (Female was my wife's requirement, grey and short-haired were mine). They said Yes, we have just one cat here, and it's grey, short-haired, female. As you can see from the video, they got the female part right.

I guess they were more concerned about finding her a home - they were about to put her down that day because she'd been there so long. She'd been thrown out of a truck. No lasting effects from that; she loves to go for car rides (even the 3.5 hour ride to the cottage), has no physical problems. But from being at the vet's so long, she hates all other animals, so she's an only pet.

By the way - she's called Cinderella because she went from rags to riches...

When not grooming the cat, I'm a classical guitarist and composer. To listen to my compositions or purchase a cd, go to http://CDBaby.com Compositions from all three of my albums can be purchased there or through most on-line downloading services (iTunes, Napster, Weed, etc.) Also, the guitars I use were all made by myself.

  • Im deaf. I love being deaf...I enjoy vaccuuming my house I dont hear it LOL sometimes my husband tells me to shut it down cuz of something gets caught. I want a deaf cat.

  • Well, there are some advantages to her being deaf now. For example, she doesn't freak out any more when the fire alarm is set off by smoke from the stove, lol
