  • @5561drum Good eyes. Most high powered piston aircraft have a propeller lever, along with throttle and mixture levers. The FW190 had an advanced engine power lever for its day. What you are seeing no doubt, is the pilot cycling the power lever. The propeller changes pitch and the engine adjusts its RPM to maintain the power setting. The camera catches the RPM change but the engine doesn't labor any differently.

  • that propellor optical illusion is caused by the video camera shutter. it is a common occurence
