Silent Hill: Origins (PS2) - cutscene break-outs pt. 2

Using a new glitch by changing costumes right before a cutscene, something interesting happens. Either you are free to move during the cutscene, or Travis is completely absent and may turn out somewhere strange afterwards. Just to warn you, this vid contains small spoilers for this game.

I: first mirror scene. The suspense is brought to a halt by repeated examinations of background things (including that one note on the desk.) We also learn that trying to use the mirror while the cutscene is on causes the game to crash. (or maybe the world ends? a non-standard game over.)

II: you can't leave the room even during this scene, because Travis is still pondering what's the deal with the mirror. Not shown on the vid, but you can freely waltz in to the nightmare room *through* the mirror during this cutscene.

III: second flame wall. This kind of small scenes are the hardest to escape because they have almost non-existent loading time (harder timing.)

IV: second box part. Use the force, Travis... the scene ends by itself before long.

V: Lisa. This scene can be easily left, but it always just starts anew when you return.

VI: variation 2, in which Travis is absent. I love this stuff.

VII: I open the door just as the scene glitchily ends by itself. You hear the door sound just as camera and Travis are deposited to the middle of the room... unfortunately nothing special happens.

VIII: glitching up the Ariel scene.

IX: variation 2, in which Travis appears in the middle of Woman's Dressing Room afterwards! Just to note, there's an invisible boundary right at the upper edge, so I can't leave the entire map.

In video games I have seen individual gamers raping great or difficult games and posting it on youtube. Yesterday I saw PikoUploader did Shadow of Colossus, and today I see Akheon dissect another from the Horror genre. XD

How in the world did you manage to figure this out? I didn't know this was even possible!

Also, the fire escape scene is REALLY helpful especially in getting the Fireman suit.

Thanks for the articulate comment. I noticed the conspicuous loading time after you change a costume, and how Travis flickers a bit after gameplay resumes. Had to find some use for it.

Oh, and the third glitch may be used in a speedrun, to gain a few seconds.

The fire scenes can be skipped from start-menu, so doing this doesn't save time... however, I'm struggling to get 'variation 2' to appear with the fire scenes, in order to see if Travis would be teleported somewhere interesting.

There are two speedrun-friendly tricks I've found yet. 1, picking up Alessa. You can run to the next cutscene without Alessa in your arms (Travis runs faster this way). 2, Kauffman. Elevator can be used faster. Total save so far maybe 10 secs...

Man travis can create a universal paradox, by just simply changing his cloths.
