  • "For that day."

My favourite scene in the film.

  • Von Sydow was Brilliant in this role. And Cliff Robertson's speech at the end is VERY prophetic.

  • I have liked this scene for years, but more recently, I wonder why Condor didn't blow away Joubert after he got the gun. Put everything else aside and Joubert was still the man who killed Condor's girlfriend in the opening scene. I wouldn't have forgotten that.

  • @mapleavenue77 a jimmy hoffa type lift...." For that day" great line

  • Two of the greatest actors of our time doing what they do best.

Best scene of many in this wonderful film. The fact that this movie didn't get much more acclaim amazes me. It's flawless in my opinion. Faye Dunnaway's small part was done to perfection also as was Cliff Robertson's.

  • Jaubert handing Condor the gun is cavalier and all that, but didn't he kill Condor's girlfriend in the opening scene? I'm just saying, Magneto would have remembered that...

  • My favorite scene as well.

  • @mapleavenue77 -You have not much future there. It will happen this way: You may be walking. Maybe the first sunny day of the spring. And a car will slow besides you. And a door will open. And someone you know, maybe even trust, will get out of the car. And he will smile. A becoming smile. But he will leave open the door of the car... ...and offer to give you a lift. -You seem to understand it all so well... *vibraphone and strings givin me the chills*
  • Max von Sydow is a fantastic actor.

  • Max von Sydow is a fantastic actor

  • This scene is so perfect towards the genre! The dialog resonates so much today as it did then...The effort by Sydow's Character (Joubert) to "recruit" Redford into the business is so subtle yet powerful underscores the beauty of Pollack's script! Simply great!

  • One of the Great Sydney Pollack films of all time! This scene is absolutely perfect and the dialogue resonates so much today as it did then.....
