Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) "Bolero" as transcribed by Jason Waldron. This tune was featured in the movie "10" with Dudley Moore and Bo Derek. The movie is a little dated and a little silly but worth watching just the same, plus Bo is in the "buff". Bo Derek's character likes to put on Ravel's "Bolero" when she wants to....ahem..."get in the mood". Enjoy! And BTW, This is the last song (#20) in the book "Fingerpicking the Classics" Vol 1, ...vol 2 is waiting in the wings (along wiht a few other things).

  • Hey is this standard tuning?

Thanks. BTW I like the Easy Rider style being mixed with French classical ;)

  • @krouton I forgot myself what tuning it was...I just looked at the sheet music...the 5th string "A" is tuned down to a "G". Thanks for giving me a listen.

  • amazing! I'm looking to get into guitar classes, I hope some day I can play this song.

  • @zubieta Go for it---Guitar classes. You'll never regret it, and you can post some of your guitar work as you progress. And someday you will be able to play this song. Goodluck.

  • I strongly recommend buying the book "Fingerpicking the Classics" vol 1 by Jason Waldron. It comes with CD. Great book to own, 20 songs--some easier than others. "Bolero" was one of the more difficult ones (last song in the book)...and it's long too. Gook Luck and Thanks.
