If you've been to a few live performances, you'll realise most bands can play their songs fine; it's people's recording devices that are to blame for all the crappy live videos on YouTube. If you're at the show and you're too close to the stage, you'll simply be deafened & everything will sound like white noise, or the speaker you're closest to. The other factors are acoustics of the arena, or the levels of the instruments; it's rarely the performers' fault - lacking a musician can affect things
