Since Krabbers posted this song last week I haven't been able to get it out of my head. It is the most beautiful song I've heard in quite a while, and it really touched me.

While it has been covered quite a few times already, and I certainly can't do justice to such a beautiful song - here is my version of Krabbers' amazing song - This Message.

If you haven't already, please check out Krabbers' original version at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao3tQeqeJio

And his channel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/krabbers

He is an amazing songwriter, and this is just one of the many great songs he has written that can be found on his channel.

The original song was an entry into GrumpyCoyoteTunes "Bring the Song Challenge". More details about that here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD9rMajYVy4

Lyrics and chords are below:

(g)I wish I could (c)write a song,(em)
good e(bm)nough,
for the (c)world to sing a(g)long

(g)and if I could (c)write that (bm)song
in a (c)language that the world would under(g)stand

and if they(em)
sing it e(g)nough
the (c)message might get (g)through
the (c)message that was
(g)only meant for (d)you

(em)where
ever you (g) are
(c) no matter
how (g) far
this (c) message
was (g) only meant for (d) you

I hope you're (g)smiling (c, em)
I hope your (bm)worries are as (c)far away as (g)me
I hope you're(g) happy
(c, em)I hope your (bm)troubles are
as (c)far away as (d)they could ever be

(g) I wish I could (c) write a (em) book
good e (bm) nough for the (c) world to want to (g) read
(g) if I did, would you (c) take a (bm) look
would the (c) words show
another side to (g) me

and as you (em) turn a (g) page
a (c) chapter has to (g) end
be (c) fore another (g) chapter can be (d) gin
and if you
(em) read it e (g) nough
the (c)message might get (g)through
the (c)message that was
(g)only meant for (d)you

I hope you're (g)smiling (c, em)
I hope your (bm)worries are as (c)far away as (g)me
I hope you're (g) happy
(c, em)I hope your (bm)troubles are
as (c)far away as (d)they could ever be

  • still lovely

  • Thank you so much Krabbers! That means a lot coming from you. This is one of my favourite songs ever.

  • your cover is the best, thx

  • Thank you so much! It's a wonderful song, and I really enjoyed covering it. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • what type of strings do you use on your koaloha and would you happen to have tabs for your solo in the begining?

  • I use the standard Koaloha strings that came with it - they're almost exactly the same as Worth Clear strings though, so you can get the same sound with them.

I don't have any tab for the solo at the beginning - I just played whatever felt right at the time. I can tab it out and send it to you though if you're interested?

  • i wish that too

  • Thanks for your comment! It's a lovely song. I hope you like the original. I wasn't using a particular picking pattern - I think it was a bit different every time I played it, and the pattern was a bit different depending on what chord I played. It was really just what felt right at the time.

  • This is a great song, I haven't heard the original yet so I'm off to the link to listen now. Are you using a particular picking pattern?

  • Thank you very much! I loved your interpretation of it too!
