  • thanks for sharing this- Jerusalem is such a treat for me. I know he's not everyone's favourite, but I never thought he had such a great Tristan in him! Much gratitude. Does he manage to do as well in that punishing 3rd act?

  • He certainly does :)

  • but I'd like to stress how very beautifully sung it is, it might be the most beautiful I've heard it.

  • With regards to the comments below, I believe that Heiner Mullers goal when creating this staging was to rid the work of any chance of romantacism and overheated passion. That being said I due feel that although the production is exceptionally beautiful and asthetic, it is to static for my taste. My personal choice for a Tristan dvd is the Patrice Chereau staging at La Scala (with Meier of Course!). No one is better at creating interpersonal drama than Chereau.

  • Meier looks as ravishing as ever and is in good voice here, but the staging makes their love seem cold. They never turn to each other and make eye contact. Too rigid for me to enjoy as a visual performance, but the vocals are lovely.

  • i will max lorenz.............

  • very beautiful, but I don't get why the singers have nothing to do with one another in their action. Who are they singing for? not for each other apparently.

  • you,re right, it,s not " Bayreuth sound "

  • Leider ist der Soundtrack Seitenvertauscht ( Anmerkung des Tonmeisters der UNITEL )

  • Dommage que la mise en scène soit si nulle.

  • pues digan lo que digan SJ en el tercer acto está impresionante
