23rd March 2008. Durring my watch on ship's navig. bridge, on Gulf of Gaeta, Italy, a twister has started. this phenomen is rare for Europe and Italy. In timpul cartului pe puntea de navigatie am avut ocazia sa filmez aceast inceput de tornada, care apoi s-a indreptat spre uscat, in Italia, in Golful Gaeta

  • @sunsetreptiles This tornado is A TRUE tornado (tornadic waterspout), not just a regular waterspout.

  • there both tornados, but made two different ways

  • A waterspout is most frequent in tropical regions. It is a tornado that occurs on the surface of the water, occurring at sea or over inland water. Waterspouts form at the base of cumulus-type clouds and extend to the surface of the water where it picks up ocean spray.

Waterspouts are very similar in intensity to tornadoes thee you go

  • i think you need to do some reading up. waterspouts are made over water and tornados are made over land. I have chase with tornado chasers and thats what they said. I have also took classes on weather and stuff. If i were you, i would learn more about this before you speak.

  • @sunsetreptiles

There's a difference between fair weather waterspouts and tornadic waterspouts. read up. A tornado over water is still a tornado, a waterspout over land is a landspout. This is a tornado.

  • Its called a Water Spout

  • @sunsetreptiles

if it rains then the land is wet... ;) and since tornado's form under storms they most like form over wet land ;) hehe

  • ok whats the difference then smart one

  • sunsetreptiles: with all respect...you couldn't be more incorrect.
