TossGirl - Queen of Terran

One of the most famous female progamers in the world, known to many as ToSsGirL or medic. She is the undefeated champion of female starcraft and now trying to work her way up in the male starcraft tournaments, playing for the korean progaming team STX SouL.

Interview with TossGirl (10th June 2006)

STARCRAFT

Q: Do you intend to keep playing starcraft for a long time or will you move on and try new challenges?

A: I don't have anything on my mind except playing StarCraft.

Q: What is your average APM (Actions Per Minute) and do you think it's a reflection of a person's skill?

A: My APM is around 360. I used to play the piano when I was young so my fingers have been very fast since I was young. It was about 280 when I started, but it increased to 360.
By looking at other people's APM, you kind of want to be as fast as them so if you try, you will be able to get faster. I don't think you must have high APM to be a good player.

Q: What does make a good player, if it's not just APM?

A: Making good decisions and making the right micro will make you better. Actually there are many low APM players who are really good.
I think Terran players must have faster APM when they do bionic (MnM's) than going meca (teching).

Q: Why did you switch from Protoss to Terran?

A: It was so hard to play against Zerg with Protoss so other people recommended me to play Terran because I have fast hands.

i think she's not doing useless clicking =.= she's selecting the scv to make them return cargo theoritically gain mineral faster

The only reason you need so much APM in Brood War is because the UI is shit compared to SC2. MBS and having more than one unit in a control group means you can have less apm and be just as good.

in the beg there may be some useless clicking but later on they are doing so many things at once that it looks as if they are useless clicks. but really it keeps a player focused and alert, and it gives them a feel for the game.

@Shyturhellout yeah youre right, pro sc players HARDLY do useless clicking. Although sometimes it does happen out of habit.
