wow what a 100% accurate account of what samadhi is, union with the streamy flow sounds, the names of ishwara. i can vouch for this he is telling the truth, the flow can be heard and felt, i hear it all the time whether in meditation or not.

I love you Roy! Thank you for spreading Master Yogananda's teachings. I was wondering why you left SRF though but am happy that you're doing God's work. Thank you!
He left SRF because it is a hypocritical church.

@santiagosuarez92 Mr. Davis left SRF two years after Yogananda's passing on very good terms. He has maintained good relations with SRF over the years and has the deepest respect for their ongoing efforts to keep the teachings of Paramahansaji alive and vital.

What happened to Yama, Niyama and Asana mentioned in the Yoga Sutras? Also, the eight sutras do not necessarily have to be taken in order. There is no set rules or definitive routes for doing the sutras.

@neilcrenshaw - Mr. Davis has a complete commentary, including the yamas, niyamas, asanas, pranayama, and the rest of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, in his book The Science of Self-Realization.
The eight limbs of yoga practice are introduced in Chapter 2 verse 29, and explained in verses 29-55 and continue into Chapter 3 verses 1-11. This information requires much more than 10 minutes for adequate coverage.

Get the book "How to know God" to get all of his Patangali sutras. I just read it, and it really is amazing.

"How to Know God: The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali by Swami Prabhavananda, Christopher Isherwood, and Patanjali" is indeed a good book. An alternative is Mr. Davis' new translation of the entire Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, with commentary, in his book "The Science of Self-Realization, A guide to Spiritual Practice in the Kriya Yoga Tradition", available from his web site.
