This is truly an amazing record of one of America's great composers!...I wish the radio network (NBC) had preserved these fantastic program recordings on high quality transcription discs. They should have preserved the whole series. Many other radio shows have survived. It is fascinating hearing George Gershwin speak - he has an unmistakable NY accent of New Yorkers of that period (I'm from NY). The program announcer is Don Wilson who on the Jack Benny Show from thru the late 60's.
Back in 1982, I met an old man sitting next to me at Severance Hall in Cleveland. He remembers as a boy seeing Gershwin playing Rhapsody in Blue at Severance Hall. States that only a blue light was cast on the piano as Gershwin played that famous piece!

I have this on CD, somewhere. Very nice, thanks. It was "Feen-a-mint", by the way.
