This video provides an overview of Chiang Mai, Thailand as a place to live and study abroad. Study abroad students from the USA and Payap University staff talk about their experiences living in Chiang Mai.

Nestled in the northern hills of Thailand and considered to be the cultural heart of the country, Chiang Mai is a true blend of traditional life and modernity. Explore some of the 300 temples, practise your Thai with some friendly bartering at the city's famous night market or simply unwind with a traditional Thai massage. Your weekends can be spent trekking the mountains that surround this city, visiting one of the many traditional hill-tribes in the region or taking in a live rock band at a local disco. Chiang Mai is a vibrant destination with all the modern attractions of a big city combined with the graces of traditional Thai life.

  • While I was abroad through my TEAN program I got to spent 2 weeks in Thailand. I cannot say enough about my experiences there. It was some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen and the culture and community was unbelievable. The locals were so welcoming and friendly!

  • Never got to go to, but I heard Chiang Mai was amazing. It looks like a beautiful and culturally rich city!

  • Love Thailand. If I have £20K to spend on a business in Thailand what city is the best choice to invest, cos I'm afraid for Bangkok this money would be to small to survive, maybe another city, smaller but still with costumers/tourists, Phuket? I would love to open a small bar with Dj live music and drinks.. I'm a Dj myself. Thank you for any suggestions.
