thats not being atheist!!!! thats you not being able to blend to a religion or teachings which was not actually tailored for you..... you joined as a monk without having the faintest thought of what you would be expected of.... i am buddhist but i cannot become a monk or nun...thats not possible.i choose to live as a layman.......

@ArtistRags what is this god that you are referiong too? just because buddhism dosnt refer to a being known as god. dosnt mean they deny the exsistance of the great mystery.
