Most Sherlock Holmes fans are familiar with Basil Rathbone and Bruce Nigel as Holmes aand Watson. Here's an earlier film version of the two classic characters, as

played by Reginald Owen and Alan Dinehart. You may also be interested in knowing that Owen played Watson in the 1932 film, Sherlock Holmes.

  • It's Alan Mowbray as Lestrade,,Mowbray played the villian in "Terror By Night" as

Col. Sebastian Moran, alias Maj. Duncan Bleek.

  • @7prcntcocaine what one is Holmes

  • when he is on a case; when free he likes oysters, curry, and a hearty breakfast.

  • But Holmes rarely eats...

  • haha let me guess, the guy in the middle is lestrade right? :P

  • it takes me a while to tell which one is Watson and which Holmes

  • when lestrade said status quo the first thing I thought of was high school musical! What have I come to?!!!

  • Owen really looks nothing like Holmes compared to quite a few other actors who've played him IMHO, Just a little too paunchy and the wrong facial structure and that massive lack of hair on Watson's head,

    Oh well.
