The Labor Department says that the unemployment rate last year for young Iraq and Afghanistan veterans hit 21.1 percent, reflecting a tough obstacle combat veterans face as they make the transition home from war. The number was well above the 16.6 percent jobless rate for non-veterans of the same ages, 18 to 24.

  • proudly, they decided to become property of the goverment where each of them goals are exchanged by orders that define interests of the goverment that send them to war forgets about them very easy.....................................................all soldiers have good intentions to serve the country but goverment doesnt care about them...................................if you want to join...........think it over wisely.

  • I can honestly say serving in the navy did absolutely nothing for me nor going to college. I hear heroin is making a comeback. Support the troops buy some heroin from me lmao.....

  • @VitaminJyo My shared experience with sailors and Marines made it worthwhile. Fuck the rest ;)

  • @Shipwreck76 You bought into a lie. I'm sorry. I value your service I just wished it could have been for something worthwhile.

  • @ArmyofUglyAnon No kidding? You think politicians and business owners are sending their sons? No way, you bought into a lie. Thanks for spreading American corporatism with your rifle.

  • @mofohains You bought into the lie.

  • Use your military skills to help overthrow the U.S. Government!

  • I remember vividly the experience I had when I left the Army in 1984. Though I never saw combat for real and never had to go to Iraq or Afghanistan, I saw all these people worshiping Reagan and waving the flag but not willing to do a thing to help veterans. This problem is not new in the good'ol USA. The news here is that there is a new generation learning an old truth about or country the hard way like I did so long ago.

  • You see on TV and everywhere else "Thanks for you service" and "You're heroes!" but then you come home and see the look on an employers face that says "Why would I hire a guy who can deploy again, when I know this other guy is a safer bet?" Thanks, it's nice to know you only "honor" me because I do a job you dont want to do yourself.

  • @mofohains Good luck brother. Perhaps the veterans need to start looking after each other.
