This is a wonderful bit of music. An Irish rebel song written around 1916 by Peador Kearney. This clip is from the 1950 movie "Rio Grande" which starred John Wayne and Mayreen O'Hara.

  • I heard that Ken Curtis(Festus Hagen) started out as a singer, but didn't really know how good a singer he was until I seen this. He looks a lot different here than in Gunsmoke.

  • @wojack1000 He was very good. Of course he had to be to get so many parts in John Wayne movies. Thanks for watching. Charlie

  • What a cutie. And he could sing too.

  • Beautiful song, and great cinematography

  • you'll get busted for this Quincannon! hahaha

  • Loved this film. It was something that Ford had to do, just to getting funding for another film. But, man, did he come up with a good film. Wayne and O' Hara made a great team. The rest of the cast was top notch. Very professionally done.

  • Getting parts in John Wayne's movies was based on his talent, but it didn't hurt that he was the Director John Ford's son-in-law.

  • my old dads favourite song, after watching this clip i can see why.

  • this one of my best western
