I found a chunk of it washed up on sunset beach

The Army Core replenished sand around the entire Dunn WW2 Defense Bunker structure in 2007. These photos must be in the early 2000's

god i spent SOOO many hours there as a child.

These are the magazine remains of Battery 223 which once had two 6-inch guns. The circular gun pads are in the surf, as are the remains of Battery 25 which was directly in front of this battery. fortwiki.com/Cape_May_Military

this is a gun battery, not a bunker. and the pilings go very deep into the ground. the state has since replentished the sand on the beach.

i went to the bunker near cape may light house and i was surprised to hear it was built 900 yards from the water and now the waves crash on it
-
lol i was just there and now theres only the very front of it in the water and you can like jump into it
i wouldnt be surprised if in, like 20 years or so those stilts would give way and it would just fall over.

You would think. Forty years ago we played on this thinking the same. It was designed to fall decades ago.
