Some interesting facts about Haley's films:

A.I.
1. Haley Joel Osment suggested to Steven Spielberg that his character (David) should not blink. Spielberg agreed and went further to suggest that none of the androids should blink.
2. In order to further his non-human appearance, each day before filming, any of Haley Joel Osment's exposed skin (face, arms, hands, etc.) was shaved to give him a more plastic look.
3. The movie was originally to be titled A.I., but after a survey it was revealed that too many people thought it was A1. The title was changed to A.I. Artificial Intelligence to prevent people from thinking it was about steak sauce.

Pay It Forward
1. Eugene Osment, who plays the mustachioed cop giving directions, is Haley Joel Osment's father and acting coach.
2. Haley Joel Osment celebrated his 12th birthday on the set during the last day of shooting. Although Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt had completed their own filming, they turned up on the set just to celebrate his birthday. Coincidentally, Trevor McKinney, the character played by Haley, celebrated his 12th birthday in the movie.
3. In the scene where Helen Hunt's character strikes her son Trevor across the face, Haley Joel Osment requested that she actually hit him to make it seem more realistic. However, director Mimi Leder declined.

Secondhand Lions
1. Haley Joel Osment was attacked by the pig during filming. The lion had numerous trainers and handlers, but no one thought the pig might be a menace.
2. Haley Joel Osment was contracted without knowing which studio would make the movie and who were the other main leads. This was against standard Hollywood practice and surprised Eugene Osment (Haley's father and manager) at first, but he agreed to "use" his son to get the remainder of the cast and the studio.
3. This would be the second of two projects involving Haley Joel Osment and Berke Breathed. The first was the animated short Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big.
4. Haley Joel Osment went through puberty during filming. As the film progresses, you can hear his voice getting deeper, especially at the end.
