You might want to actually read Kay's book before dismissing him. He does a good job of putting contemporary conspiracism in the context of the vast history of old-school contrarianism as well as indicating the many factors in our society that help these theories thrive. I don't agree with Kay 100%. I'm an atheist, and Kay takes the New Atheists to task too. But short of spending an afternoon handing out truther leaflets, Kay couldn't conceivably have been fairer to the movement.

I love the response to Mr. Kay's book about the truth movement. There are scores of books written by truthers , David Ray Griffin, Barrie Zwicker, et al, all saying that 911 was an inside job , and accusing any number of people of conspiracy to commit mass murder, but someone writes one book taking issue with that conclusion, and critical of those who put it forward, and the outrage! the indignation! I hear Mr. Kay even said Barrie Zwicker didn't have a sense of humour!

another thing that really cracks me up about this vid is the info you provided.
Kay did NOT 'go undercover' at all. He interviewed CTs like a regular journalist.
Maybe you should, you know, actually read the book before criticizing it.
